Why Rolling Red Ranch

Naturally Raised, Gently Handled

Calves grow up on their dams and big bermuda and bahia pastures, with no creep feed, no bulk feed and never any hormones, so what you see is the true animal.

Clean, DNA-Verified Certificates

Registered Charolais, Hereford and Black Brangus herds are 100K DNA chipped, parent verified, tested for horn/poll and clear of known carrier issues.

Raised to Maturity

Bulls and replacement heifers are not sold before 18 months and heifers are not bred before 17 to 18 months, for honest phenotypes, accurate BSEs and better mothers.

Our Story

She worked in the pipeline industry, he was a financial advisor from Palestine in East Texas, and they met at a social club in Houston. She had an animal science degree from Texas A&M and had loved cattle ever since that first class, always hoping to ranch "someday".

Four daughters and many busy city years later, Covid turned someday into now. The Mathis family left the city for the northeast Texas countryside and took on a rundown, nearly abandoned ranch near Pert. The work is ongoing, but the cattle are content, and the gentle handling is paying off.

Today Deborah Mathis manages a herd of registered Red Brangus and Herefords bred for true F1 Red Super Baldies, alongside sister ranches Piney Points (Black Brangus) and Merrilee's Charolais. The goal is great beef, not the show ring, and the family's mission is to steward the ranch to the best of their abilities (Col 3:23-24).
