Why Woman Hollerin Ranch

Proven in the Show Ring

Our sires and females have won at Houston, San Antonio, San Angelo, the State Fair of Texas and Junior Nationals, often in the hands of young exhibitors.

Registered Santa Gertrudis & Star 5

A herd of registered purebred Santa Gertrudis alongside Star 5 and commercial cattle, built on 5-E, Briggs, Nine Bar and Winrock bloodlines.

Family-Owned Since 1982

Ricky and Betty McCormick raise their cattle on land that has been in Betty's family for more than 100 years. Just give us a holler!

Our Story

The name comes from Woman Hollering Creek on I-10 west, which the family passed on the way to the San Antonio Stock Show. Ricky told Betty that was what they should call the ranch, and anyone who knows Betty understands why.

Betty met the Santa Gertrudis breed in 1980 while working show strings at LaRue's Cattle Service through a Texas A&M co-op program. She earned her Animal Science degree at A&M in 1981 and started buying Santa Gertrudis of her own in 1982.

Ricky and Betty McCormick married in 1989 and raised two daughters, Candice and Emma. Today the family runs registered Santa Gertrudis, Star 5 and commercial cattle west of Brookshire, Texas, on land that has been in Betty's father's family for over 100 years.
