The Legacy of Wendt Ranch

Wendt Ranch began in 1909, when R.A. Wendt registered the “Combination S” brand in Matagorda County. In 1954, R.A. and his son Dan formed R.A. Wendt & Son, Herd #621 in the Santa Gertrudis Breeders International registry, and immediately began keeping detailed performance records.

From the 1970s through the early 2000s, Dan and Jane Wendt exported cattle to breeders in Argentina, Brazil, Morocco, Australia, Russia, Paraguay, Uruguay, Mexico, Canada, South Africa and Zimbabwe. The ranch produced many of the breed's most recognized sires: Superman, Crackerjack, Buckeye, Partner, Sheriff, Gangster and the well-known All Star.

Today Wendt Ranches Partners is led by Gene and Nancy Kubecka with their son Daniel and his wife Lauren, the fourth and fifth generations. A progressive AI and embryo transfer program, genomics and proven cow families produce elite Santa Gertrudis cattle that excel both in the pasture and in the show ring.
