In 2017, Adam Wackel took the plunge and bought his first herd of commercial bottle calves. He had always dreamed of living on a farm and raising cattle, and after building his first house out on a farm, he made that dream a reality.
Seeing the unparalleled demand for high-quality Wagyu beef, Adam switched the herd to fullblood Wagyu in 2020. Today the farm runs over 30 dual-registered fullblood Wagyu cows, 10 bulls and 20 steers on feed, plus 100 commercial cows bred with fullblood Wagyu embryos.
Wackel Farms Wagyu has invested heavily in foundation-sire semen from traditional US foundation bulls and leading Australian genetics. Mixing the two has built an efficient embryo program, and the beef is sold under Adam's Plum Creek Wagyu brand.
