Why Pump Jack Cattle Company

Proven in the Pasture and the Ring

Pump Jack cattle have won division and grand championships at TJBBA, the Texas Invitational Open Brangus Show and the Victoria Livestock Show.

Gentle, Maternal Donors

The herd is built around docile, maternal Brangus donor cows that produce show heifers, show steers and replacement females.

A Family Program

Morres, Nadine and Shelbie Van Beveren run the ranch and support Victoria County 4-H, the Victoria Livestock Show and the Texas Junior Brangus Breeders Association.

Our Story

Pump Jack Cattle Company grew out of a family's lifelong love of the cattle business. Morres grew up on a small farm in Westhoff, Texas, raising hogs and a few cows with his dad, and after high school leased the family farm to run commercial cattle; he now has more than 35 years of commercial cattle experience. Nadine grew up on a small farm in Cuero, bottle-feeding orphaned calves and working on a dairy.

Their daughter Shelbie was riding along to check cattle and haul calves to the auction from an early age. She joined 4-H in 2005 and showed pigs for seven years before asking to show a steer and a heifer, on the condition that she finish her 4-H career with cattle. That decision turned the family toward Brangus and a breeding program of their own, and in 2011 they began buying and raising registered Brangus cattle.

Today the Van Beverens raise registered Brangus herd sires, donor females, sale bulls and show cattle in Victoria, Texas, and sell fertilized Coastal, Tifton and Medio/Blue Stem hay. They are members of the International Brangus Breeders Association and volunteer with Victoria County 4-H, the Victoria Livestock Show, the Victoria Area Go Texan Committee and the Texas Junior Brangus Breeders Association.
