Our Story

Oak Creek Farms was established in 1967 by John and Carolyn Kopycinski in Chappell Hill, Texas, along the Brazos River corridor, where the Kopycinski family has ranched in Austin and Washington counties for more than 100 years.

Today the ranch is managed by John and Carolyn alongside their daughter Christi Kopycinski Strock, her husband Matt Strock, and their sons John, Robert and Will, maintaining more than 500 head of registered Brangus, Red Brangus, Red Angus and Angus cattle.

Every bull is developed on a 100% forage diet of Tifton 85 bermudagrass with no grain supplementation in the pasture, an environment that filters for high-fertility, low-maintenance cattle suited to hot, humid Gulf Coast conditions. The program has used ultrasound to measure intramuscular fat and ribeye area for more than 43 years, and DNA profiling for tenderness, marbling and parentage for more than 23 years.
