We started with 'normal cattle', and many of them still wander the farm. The taste of Japanese-style beef, along with the docility and calving ease of the breed, drew us to Wagyu. Fullblood calves are small, generally 50-60 lb, and Wagyu bulls can service upwards of 50% more females than traditional breeds.
We call North Texas home, roughly an hour north of Dallas. We are a small family-operated farm and we like staying small, so decisions are made for animal welfare, not just financial metrics. No growth hormones, no animal products in the feed. These cows have it good.
