Our Story
Jake and Britt Mathews grew up in the commercial cattle business around many breeds, and always had a special appreciation for Brahman influence. In 2017 they started a registered Brahman herd in San Augustine, in East Texas.
The name KI comes from their children: son Kain and daughters Iris and Ivie Klair. Faith and family sit at the centre of the operation, and the kids are learning that passion, persistence and hard work make life in agriculture both rewarding and fun.
What began with grey Brahmans has grown into red and polled programs built on proven genetics. The goal is simple: breed gentle, sound, eye-appealing cattle that benefit ranchers and the breed, make every calf crop better than the last, and never sacrifice quality for quantity.
