Our Story

Primo Castillo grew up in the mountains with little electricity or running water and left for the United States at 13. More than twenty years later he bought his first ranch and Brahman herd in Axtla de Terrazas, San Luis Potosí, starting in 2006 with three donor females and one Red Brahman sire.

From the start the program was built on top American Brahman genetics, with heifers, bulls and semen from breeders such as K-Bar Farms, Swanner Brahmans, J.D. Hudgins, V8 Ranch, HK Cattle and Moreno Ranches. Since 2008 his wife, CPA Daniela Olvera, has run the ranch, keeping detailed performance records and using AI, natural service and embryo transfer.

In 2022 the family opened Ganadería Las Huastecas Texas Division LLC in Grandview, Texas, after exporting heifers and an elite sire from Mexico. Today the program shows in both countries and sells sires, donor females, semen and embryos to breeders around the world.
