Why HeartBrand Cattle

DNA-Verified Fullbloods

Registered and DNA-verified through the American Akaushi Association; bulls carry breeding soundness exams and Trich certification before every sale.

Proven Carcass Premiums

Akaushi-sired calf crops average 95% USDA Choice or higher, and the buyback program pays $100 to $150 per head premiums on Akaushi-sired calves and fat cattle.

Vertically Integrated

Registered seedstock, a 35-sire AI program, donor embryos and the HeartBrand Beef branded program: the full Akaushi value chain under one roof.

Fall 2026 Female Sale Lots

Bred registered Akaushi females from the Family Matters Vol V catalog, available through the Fall 2026 private treaty program.

Our Story

The Beeman family represents a fifth-generation Texas ranching operation. After running a meat packing facility and harvesting some of the first Akaushi cattle processed outside Japan, the family recognized the breed's exceptional carcass marbling and yield.

In 1994 HeartBrand acquired the original nucleus herd exported from Kumamoto, Japan: 8 females and 3 bulls. From that foundation the American Akaushi Association (AAA) was established to maintain DNA-verified registration and herd tracking, with HeartBrand as member F0001.

Today HeartBrand Cattle runs a vertically integrated, ranch-to-table program from Harwood, Texas: registered fullblood Akaushi seedstock, a 35-sire AI semen program, an embryo transfer program, and the HeartBrand Beef branded operation, alongside a commercial buyback program that pays premiums on Akaushi-sired calves.

What Our Customers Say

"HeartBrand, a company for the future, and probably one of the best vertically integrated cattle businesses in the world! On our visit, we watched 180 carcasses being graded for that week's production, most of them grading U.S.D.A. Prime. Akaushi cattle can marble well at 20 to 24 months of age. You cannot afford not to infuse your cattle herd with Akaushi genetics."
