Frenzel Beefmasters is a registered Beefmaster operation in Temple, Texas, with more than 30 years in the business. The program is built on performance and production: birth, weaning and yearling weights are recorded on every animal, and herd bulls come mainly from the Lasater and L Bar herds, the foundation herds of the breed.
Cows are bred in two tight 60-day seasons, spring (February 1 to March 31) and fall (starting in September). Heifers calve at two years old and must rebreed every year inside that window, and cows that don't are removed after weaning. The goal is efficient, functional cattle with clean underlines, thick muscling and good udders that work in a realistic environment.
Most Frenzel bulls sell through the Beef On Forage performance-tested bull sales run by the Frenzel family, while females and other bulls sell by private treaty at the ranch. Frenzel genetics now work in herds in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Mississippi and Nevada, as well as in Mexico, South Africa and Thailand.
