Donors and show females from the 150 and 804 cow families.
Mike and Lisa Doguet started in the cattle business in 1984 with 14 Simbrah heifers and a bull on 225 acres. When Simbrah bulls became hard to sell in the early 1990s, they dispersed that herd and bought their first Brangus cows at the 3G Ranch dispersal in 1992.
In 2004 the Doguets bought 29 donors from the South Gate Ranch herd to complete a foundation built on the 804, 200, 38, 88, 820, 193 and 1019 cow families, and brought in Timmy Lucherk as genetics manager. Show success followed quickly, from International Champions in Houston to a sweep of the major IBBA Show Animal of the Year awards in 2017.
The operation grew to roughly 5,000 owned and leased acres across Jefferson, Atascosa and Wilson counties, with headquarters in Beaumont and cattle at Poteet and Nome, alongside the family's turf grass business. The goal has stayed the same: moderate, easy-keeping Brangus that perform on grass for commercial cattlemen, with the style to win in the ring.
