Our Story
Cox Excalibur has been in business for over 40 years. Don Cox started the CX herd in 1983 on his ranch in Weimar, Texas, about 70 miles west of Houston, and worked hard to build a top quality herd by testing different genetics to develop the herd now known as Cox Excalibur Red Brangus, or CX Genetics.
Our herd sire battery is recognized all over the world: Sensation, the number one A.I. sire in Red Brangus, his Houston Grand Champion sons Cardinal, Super Sensation and Topline, and outcross genetics like CX Promise 37/K, Deliberate 23/F and CX Chief Cardinal 847.
Don received the IRBBA Lifetime Achievement Award (2021), the IBBA Pioneer Award (2022) and the Jake White Lifetime Achievement Award (2024). Today the Cox Excalibur legacy lives on through Don's children: Courtney, Conner, Cody and Cayla.
